so this is during 2017 a year after the giant war (of heroes of Olympus), about a 5 months after the apocalypse and 1 month after Jack, June, Quint, and Dirk make it to NYC. after discovering the deaths of her parents June runs out of the lady of liberty and onto the beach. she sees a ferry and a man in jogging shirts. he says June's parents were her adoptive parents and her real mom is dead. the man tells June that she and her friends are more than just regular kids, and they are invited to a place called Camp Half-blood. this book is going off the last kids on earth TV series and the Trial of Apollo never happened.

Percy felt useless at Camp Half Blood. After David Roberts son of Zeus arrived at Camp Half Blood everyone started to ignore Percy. Even the Gods did. Poseidon himself was ignoring Percy. His own son! He didn't know why at first but then he figured it out. David had told everyone at Camp Half Blood that Percy left him fighting monsters on his own while Percy just stood there watching. Percy Jackson is not a good person. At least, not anymore. Percy has been through a lot. Annabeth is dead and his few remaining friends are scattered across America. Percy's been loyal and heroic his whole life, he's always done what the gods asked. And they have only ever repaid him with pain and indifference. So now it's his turn.
