In a school ruled by masks, money, and mind games, queens don't wear crowns... they bleed for them. At St. Dominic, power is everything and feelings are fatal. Yumeko Jabami returned for revenge, not romance. Her hands aren't clean, and neither is her heart. But when the games shift and the Student Council fractures, her path keeps crossing with the one girl she shouldn't trust - President Kira Tamurov. Cold, calculating, and impossibly unreadable. They're not friends. Not allies. But something lingers between every gamble and glance...something dangerous. Because falling for your enemy? That's how queens lose. And in this school, even love comes with a cost.

"I don't belong to anyone, and I sure as hell don't belong to you" "sweetheart, you've always belonged to me." __________________________________________ For as long as Addison Belmore could remember, she and her best friend, Briar Reid, had been attached at the hip. From playing softball together to falling asleep on the couch while some shitty movie played in the background, they were inseparable. That all changed at the start of freshman year when a party was thrown on Halloween and Addison found Danny Hughes, her boyfriend, and Briar making out on the couch while he was practically fucking her through her clothes. Addison waited days for a text, a call, or even an email. She just wanted anything Briar could give her that could somewhat resemble an apology-but she never sent one. The worst part was that Briar lived right across the street from Addison, yet she still had the absolute audacity to do nothing. After a few weeks of silence, Addison promised herself she'd never talk to Briar again, and that she would become everything Briar ever wanted to be. But promises do change..... __________________________________________ In present time Years had passed, and by the time senior year rolled around, their hatred for each other had become known in the entire school. They only had one more year of high school left together, but surviving it was going to be an absolute nightmare. they're also now captains of the softball team. They were stuck sharing the same dugout, leading the same team, and fighting for the exact same ending. Addison had spent years building herself up to be everything Briar couldn't touch but will her walls crumble? The elevator opened probably at my stop and closed again. I could feel her smirking against my cheek, "Wait, did you not tell your friends how you begged me to fuck you?" she asked, chuckling a bit. "No," I said way too fast. "Wait, I meant I didn't say anything because nothing happened, we're going to forget about it," I said, forcing my eyes open and pushing the warmth away. "And if I don't want to forget it?" she asked, moving down to my ear. I gasped as she kissed right below it. "You have to. We..." I trailed off, my head falling back against the wall on its own, "We can't." "Why can't we?" she asked. "We want the same things, whether you're willing to admit it or not," she whispered, then kissing the spot again. "There is nothing to admit. I got over you," I said, repeating what I said last night, even as my body said something completely different. She let me go, stepping back. "Look me in the eye and tell me you're not turned on," she said, looking at me dead in the eyes. We both know I was, but I was definitely not going to say it. "I'm not," I sighed, trying and failing to sound convincing. "You're excuse for last night is that you were drunk. What's your excuse this time?" she asked, that annoying smirk coming back. ---------------------- Emryn and Avani have been best friends since they were kids.
