It was just a dare. Just one kiss. Just one night. Joong still calls himself straight. Dunk still pretends it meant nothing. But nothing doesn't come with jealousy, late-night touches and the kind of tension that ruins friendships. Friends with benefits was supposed to be easy. Catching feelings wasn't part of the deal.

Everyone in the hospital knows Dr. Pond Naravit. The country's most respected cardiothoracic surgeon. The youngest department head. The man people secretly call Lord Naravit. Brilliant. Demanding. Untouchable. Heartless. At least, that's what everyone says. Then Phuwin Tangsakyuen arrives. A chaotic new intern who crashes into Pond's carefully ordered life from the very first day. What begins as a rivalry between an impossible surgeon and an infuriating intern slowly turns into something neither of them expects. Between exhausting shifts, emergency surgeries, sleepless nights, and moments of quiet vulnerability, Phuwin begins to see the man behind the reputation-a man who remembers whether he's eaten, notices when he's exhausted, and waits outside operating rooms longer than he should. And for the first time, the hospital begins to notice it too. Because Dr. Pond Naravit may seem heartless to everyone else, but when it comes to Phuwin, he cares far more than he intends to. The problem is that feelings are far more complicated than medicine, and neither of them knows what to do when concern becomes affection, affection becomes love, and suddenly the person who irritates them most becomes the one they can't imagine losing.

Since childhood, Pond and Phuwin had been sworn enemies. While their parents-college best friends who built their lives side by side-dreamed of their sons growing up just as close, reality turned out completely different. Pond was loud, confident, and always ready to challenge the world. Phuwin was calm, sharp-tongued, and quietly competitive. Every family gathering turned into a battlefield-grades, sports, talents, even who their parents praised more. They fought over everything. They refused to sit beside each other. They promised never to like each other. But growing up changes more than just height. In high school, their rivalry deepens-academic competitions, shared friend circles, accidental touches, heated arguments that last a little too long. The tension between them starts to feel different. Less hatred. More awareness. More stolen glances. More heartbeats that don't make sense. What happens when the person you compete with becomes the only one who understands you? What happens when years of arguing turn into late-night conversations? As pride slowly cracks and misunderstandings unfold, Pond and Phuwin are forced to confront a truth neither of them is ready to admit-maybe they were never just enemies. Maybe they were always meant to find each other through the chaos. From rivalry to longing. From annoyance to protection. From enemies... to something far deeper. Because sometimes, love doesn't begin with sweetness. Sometimes, it begins with a fight. ❤️

Five years ago, Pond Naravit walked away from the love of his life without looking back.
Back then, Pond was ambitious, reckless, and terrified of choosing love over certainty. Phuwin Tangsakyuen-gentle yet quietly strong-was the one who paid the price when unspoken fears, bad timing, and a single irreversible decision tore them apart. They promised to never meet again, believing distance would make the pain easier to bear.
 It didn't.
Now in their mid-twenties, fate brings them together once more under circumstances neither expected. Pond is a rising creative director returning to Bangkok for a career-defining project. Phuwin is a literature editor living a quieter life, one carefully built to hide the scars Pond left behind. Their reunion is accidental, awkward, and heavy with everything they never said.
Old feelings resurface in stolen glances, unfinished sentences, and the familiar comfort that still lingers between them. But they are no longer the same people they once were. Phuwin has learned how to protect his heart. Pond carries regret like a second skin-and this time, he knows exactly what he lost.
As they are forced to work within the same circle and confront shared memories, both must decide: is love worth risking a second heartbreak? Or are some stories better left unfinished?

Phuwin has spent the entire semester convinced that his next-door neighbour is the single most annoying person on the planet. Pond Naravit is rich, popular at university, and somehow always exactly where Phuwin doesn't want him to be, which would already be bad enough if Pond wasn't also perfectly skilled at getting on his nerves. Meanwhile, Phuwin is just trying to survive university, figure out his life, and graduate without losing his sanity, but that becomes significantly harder when Pond Naravit moves into the dorm room right next to his. What Phuwin doesn't know is that Pond has liked him for a long time. And instead of saying it out loud like a normal person, he does the worst possible thing, he teases, provokes, and annoys Phuwin and unfortunately, that works a little too well cause now Phuwin hates him. Completely. To the core, except when things start getting confusing, when the same person who drives him insane is also the one who keeps showing up when it matters. The one who notices things no one else does. And suddenly Phuwin isn't so sure anymore. Because the more he tries to convince himself that he hates Pond Naravit... The more he starts to wonder if he ever really did.

The economics department of Chulalongkorn University runs on caffeine and academic pressure, and yeah, everyone knows two things: Pond Naravit and Phuwin Tangsakyuen are incapable of existing peacefully, and neither of them knows how to lose. Whether it's grades, basketball, or academic pride, their rivalry burns through campus like wildfire. But somewhere between late-night study sessions, ruthless competition, and moments that linger a little too long, things begin shifting into something far more dangerous. Because beneath Pond's effortless confidence and teasing grin, Phuwin starts noticing cracks that nobody else seems to see. And no matter how many times he tells himself otherwise, he can't seem to look away. Somewhere between rivalry and obsession, Phuwin realizes Pond isn't nearly as untouchable as he pretends to be. This is my first fanfic guys, so kindly forgive any errors. Hope you have a good time reading, and do share your thoughts in the comments 💖.
