Sophia has always known that scars tells stories. Blood stains the walls, settles beneath her fingernails, and paints memories her mind refuses to hold. Trapped beneath the hand of one man, she has learnt that silence means survival, kindness comes with consequences, and escape is merely another word for hope. And hope has never been kind to her. He called his art his greatest masterpiece. Painting her skin shades of purple, blue and black, etching himself into her with lines she cannot read nor take back. He had engraved every fibre of his existence into her frail body, convincing her that pain was protection and that his prison was home.
But beyond the walls of her cage, the shadows are restless. For thirteen years, powerful men have searched for something stolen from them; a woman who vanished, a child who was never meant to disappear, and the missing piece of a family that once brought kingdoms to their knees. Their fires have consumed cities. Their grief has carved empires. Yet every trail has ended in ashes.
Until now.
A wounded stranger. A forgotten name. Scars that shouldn't exist. As forgotten loyalties awaken and enemies begin circling, Sophia finds herself at the centre of a war she does not remember starting.
But some cages cannot remain hidden forever. And when the devils finally discover what has been done to their princess, mercy may become the first casualty.
Sophia has spent her life tangled in tears.
Now, the world may drown in them.
(This will be a trilogy following Sophia's journey in life. this is an extremely slow burn)
