Before the treasure hunts and blood in the water, there was Sloane Carrington and Rafe Cameron. The golden couple of Figure Eight. She saw the boy beneath his volatility long before the island saw the danger. When the summer that changes everything begins, Sloane becomes Rafe's anchor as he spirals, until loving him starts to cost her pieces of herself. By the time the island fractures, the fault lines between them are already there. © kooksandpearls | Feb, 2026

Brooke Routledge has always been told to act upon risk. She regrets it all. The love, the vulnerability, the true form that she provided to him. It wasn't worth it, and the cruelest part was the act of throwing it back into her face. She doesn't think he ever loved her. How could you? It runs so much deeper than that. Neither of them knew what they were doing, how they were feeling, and how to fix it all-though, under everything, they wanted to fix it. Risk. It's what destroyed Brooke Routledge. But in a strange way, she wondered, could risk be what saves her? OBX ␥ Rafe Cameron & JJ Maybank © elegancies
