Disabled by a dog attack in her childhood, Beatrice Lockwood knows what it is like to become friends with loneliness. After years of hard work to cement herself into the small Yorkshire community of Impling, she has managed to create a meaningful, simple life with people who actually care about her. So when James Bancroft, an outsider, makes his disdain for her clear in front of everyone in town, she knows that keeping her distance is the only option. She cannot afford to lose the crucial support she has garnered. The only problem is that the damned man can't seem to stay away from her now. James Bancroft - stoic, chaste, and looking for nothing but peace - is not trying to make friends in Impling. Still, he had not intended to make enemies, either. After badmouthing a beloved pillar of the community at a dance, he knows he must make amends, and quickly. But the more he tries to make things right with the morbid Miss Lockwood, the more she pulls away. As his passion toward her grows, he finds himself unable to cope with his newfound feelings. After all, he knows quite well what it looks like when a man does not control himself. Vibes: Foggy moors, folklore, small rural community Tropes: *Overheard *Grovel *Cynical hero Trigger Warnings: Scenes of domestic violence, scenes of dog attacks, scenes of animal slaughtering/death *Though this book is set in the same universe as the Gentleman's Proposal series, it is largely unrelated to the other books. Therefore, I have chosen to list it as a standalone.*

**PREVIEW ONLY** Dr. Indiana "Indie" Miller never believed in fairy tales. How could she? Everything she ever accomplished was paid for in blood, sweat, and will. Emancipated at sixteen, she put herself through medical school while juggling three jobs, and built a life around one simple truth - that no one was coming to save her. Then her favorite patient introduces Indie to her grandson. And Teddy Williams is everything Indie never dared to dream of. Kind, steadfast, and completely devoted to her. He's the kind of man who notices the little things and looks at her like she's the only woman in the world. There's only one problem. Teddy's overbearing mother hates her. Thankfully, Nana Ellie is there to shield Indie from the worst of it, and despite the tension, Teddy and Indie fall deeper and deeper in love. Two years later, they're on the verge of forever and preparing to move to New Jersey for Indie's dream job at Bluewater Cancer Center. But when Nana Ellie dies, the woman who loved Indie like family is gone. Teddy's mother, Dawn, has spent his entire life making herself the center of it, and she has no intention of letting Indie take her place. Every mispronounced name, every crossed boundary, every cruel little comment is designed to prove one thing - Indie does not belong with him. As the pressure builds and the disrespect becomes impossible to ignore, Teddy finds himself caught between the family he was raised to put first and the woman he loves more than anything. He chooses wrong. And he loses Indie. Without her, Teddy is forced to face the truth of his choices. That his mother's love was never love at all, it was guilt, control, and enmeshment. And if he wants any chance of winning Indie back, he'll have to do more than apologize - he'll have to become the man she deserved all along. Because Indie Miller is done waiting for a fairy tale. This time, she's going to make one for herself.

Forced into marriage by duty and obligation, The Duke and Duchess of Rothbury parted ways a week after saying their vows under the explicit understanding that theirs was a marriage in name only. There would be no expectations of love, fidelity, or romance. The Duke hates the American Heiress who married him only for his title, completely unaffected by the senseless tragedy that had made their marriage necessary in the first place. When an illness forces him to retire to the country, he makes sure to choose the property where his wife wouldn't be. Except that she is, and she is still as insufferable as ever. The Duchess resents the man who killed her youthful dreams of love and abandoned her to live his bachelor life unencumbered. When she is jilted by her lover, and faced with inevitable ridicule, she decides to retire to her beloved estate in Cornwall, where she runs an orphanage. Never once does she expect to run into her cold, selfish, insufferable arse of a husband! Forced into each other's company by circumstance, the couple begin to unravel their individual prejudices. Resentment turns into respect and friendship. Respect and friendship soon turn into attraction and affection. Was love closer than either one of them could ever have imagined? And that begged the question; can the Duke win his wife's favor, or is it far too late to make their marriage a love match? Cover by MuniWilliams.

Highest in Werewolf: #2 "Selene, my daughter, please hear us out. I know we don't deserve it, but your sister is pregnant and-" I held up my hand to stop the man named Benicio Dixon from speaking. Surely they didn't call me here just so they can dump all their personal problems onto me or dig up the past. If that was the case, they're quite foolish. I'm not interested in the slightest. Shifting my attention from my father to the woman he stood behind, my gaze narrowed on the small but visible bump under her sundress. Hestia Anne Dixon. My younger sister. The Luna of my old pack and the woman my mate chose over me. She was pregnant. I turned to the male sitting beside her in the Alpha's seat. Guilt and regret crossing his striking features when he refused to meet me in the eye. "If the reason you called me here is because of this nonsense" I gestured between my sister and mate, "Then it would appear I wasted my time. With all due respect, Beta Dixon, I am an Alpha. I have many and much more important things to do than discuss petty mate bonds. If It wasn't obvious enough, I'll make myself clear-" I stood up, not caring for the gazes burning into my skin. "Whether or not she has this pup has nothing to do with me. Luna Walker's mate has nothing to do with me. In fact, none of you have anything to do with me outside of pack business. If you're worried about my interference-- don't. I won't say nor do anything. To put it simply, I don't want him. I didn't want him for the past four years since he rejected me and you all left me to die. Rest assured that seeing him again won't change anything. Now if you'll excuse me, I have things to attend to." I held my head high, walking off with my Beta trailing behind me. Just as I reached the door, it abruptly pulled open and I came face to face with the most beautiful man I've ever seen in my life. Dark, crystal grey eyes bore into me and I found myself go still.
