Why... Why did those words - her singing - bewitch him so?
"You are my way of life! The only way I know!"
The demon could not understand it. He could not understand why his cold heart leapt at each word that escaped her delicate mouth. He could not understand the way his tail tapped along the rhythm of the music on the carpeted floor, going off beat each time the words of one's declaration of love were sung by her.
"I'll never let you go! Because I love you so!"

Boris, his pal, his best friend, noticed the want, no, the need in his friend's gaze. He noticed the way he sat still, save for his tail slapping the carpeted floor to the rhythm of the song. He knew that look all too well. Bendy wanted what he saw. He wanted what was presented on the stage as a prize.
"You are my way of life! The only way I know! You are my way of life! Don't ever go!"
All of a sudden, the demon's stage lights felt too dim...
