Merlin Season 5 Spoilers Ahead! . . . . . . The death of Arthur came as a shock to none. His fate had always seemed set in stone, once he had achieved his goal of Albion. What would have happened, however, if things were different? More specifically, what would have happened if Mordred hadn't gone back to Morgana? This is a partial rewrite of Merlin Season 5, and is an AU. An OC is included so the story's path can be adapted to one more satisfying.

Arthur Pendragon wants to court Merlin the right way. He knows there are 5 steps to courting, and as the courting progresses, the pair gets more intimate. The five steps are: Flowers Gifts Time spent together (with a chaperone) Poetry Then a jousting match, where the courting is declared, and the courting couple decided whether or not to end the courtship if it hasn't already, continue courting, or get married. Merlin, however, is not from Camelot and doesn't know anything about these traditions.
