Harry Potter and Severus Snape have never been particularly close, but that changes his sixth year after Professor Slughorn's Christmas party. Now, on the cusp of his Horcrux hunt, these two cannot seem to stay away from one another. While the fate of the Wizarding World rests in Harry's hands, knowing he must vanquish Voldemort, Harry cannot get his Potions Professor from his mind.

Eighteen-year-old Harry is thrown a curve-ball after his graduation from The Stirling School - one of his father's best friends is murdered alongside his wife, his godfather goes crazy, his own father works too much, and his mother goes to care for his ailing parents. Not to mention the fact that someone thought that Harry would be decent guardian material for Teddy, his technical uncle's only child. Now a medical student at the University of Cambridge, Harry must juggle fatherhood, his course studies, and an internship with the object of his affections, cancer researcher Dr. Severus Snape.

Post-war. Twenty-one-year-old Harry Potter is disillusioned with the Auror Corps as he has some residual spell damage and can no longer partake in active field duty. The young wizard is regulated to his desk at the ministry, and thinks that he should be doing more and not getting "special treatment", as it were. Severus Snape, now the Deputy Headmaster, has become a bit of a recluse, and is only seen in his potions classes or at mealtimes, and spends the rest of his time brewing. None of the professors can get through to him, as the man doesn't seem to want to listen. Minerva McGonagall, now the Headmistress of Hogwarts, decides that enough is enough, and so she hires Harry as the new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, in the hopes of filling the position, and getting Severus out of his funk.

Harry Potter, seventeen, abused and broken but determined not to show it, has been in the care system since he was ten, and about to age out in the next ten months. He needs all the help he can get, if only he would be willing to accept it. Severus Snape, thirty-eight, is a social worker and is a little too obsessed with a romance series and is married to his work, despite what his co-workers want for him. When Severus meets Harry and their worlds collide - literally - they are left wondering if all is as they thought it was, and if there is hope for a better tomorrow.
