Amongst a family that never quite felt like his own, Kelsey Wylde struggles to find where he belongs, or if he belongs at all. Seen as the "problem child", he exists on the margins of a household defined by achievement, expectation, and comparison, where love is distributed unevenly and attention must be earned. After a destructive incident that lands him in police custody and severs what fragile trust remained with his parents, Kelsey is sent away to live with his uncle. With his friendships cut off and his autonomy tightly restricted, he is transferred mid-semester to Muhnroe Academy, an all-boys boarding school renowned for shaping underperforming boys into disciplined, high-achieving students. However, Muhnroe is not nearly as polished as it presents itself to be. As Kelsey is drawn into the orbit of the group working to expose this reality, he is forced to confront the uncomfortable possibility that survival and self-destruction may look exactly the same from the inside.
The story of a boy trying to survive for all the wrong reasons.
