Remus had always been quieter than the others. Thoughtful where James was reckless, patient where Sirius was impulsive, and observant enough to notice the things his friends tried to hide. He was the boy with a book in his hands, a tired smile on his lips, and far more secrets than anyone his age should have carried.
His greatest secret was the one he feared would change everything. Every full moon brought pain, isolation, and the reminder of what lived beneath his skin. Remus had spent years learning to keep that part of himself hidden, convinced that if people truly knew what he was, they would eventually leave.
Then he met James, Sirius, and Peter. Somehow, they stayed. They turned stolen evenings into adventures, detention into laughter, and Hogwarts into something that almost felt like home. With the Marauders, Remus could forget the careful distance he usually kept between himself and everyone else. He could simply be a boy.
But the moon always came back. And with it came the fear that one day his friends would see him differently.
Remus Lupin was gentle, intelligent, and quietly brave. He loved deeply, even when he believed he shouldn't. He forgave easily, worried constantly, and carried his loneliness so gracefully that most people never noticed it was there.
He didn't want to be extraordinary. He only wanted to be accepted. To be loved without having to hide. And perhaps, beneath the moonlight, surrounded by the people who chose to stay, Remus might finally learn that being a monster was never the same thing as being unworthy of love.
