Grian's life was shattered into a million pieces a long time ago. So long ago, he didn't know whether it was ever even whole. When he joined Hermitcraft after running away from the Watchers, it was starting to come together, until season eight began and his life was thrown into chaos. The Watchers were there, and he didn't even know if they were good or bad anymore. He didn't know who to be scared of. And he was forced to question everything in silence, finding refuge only in his magic. And unfortunately for him, things don't always go the way he might have expected - not that he really had any expectations, anyway. There is some mild swearing. December 31st. The cursed day. While most families were still enjoying the cheers of christmas, 30 kids, no more, no less would be taken from their homes. They would be trained to become watchers- powerful being with a heart as hard as bedrock, and a soul harder than obsidian. Surely Techno and Grian weren't chosen? But luck was never on their side. Grian is cursed, or at least, that's what it seems. Trapped against his will to play a cruel game and sacrificing himself for his friends, Grian knows little of happiness. Now forced to throw away his very humanity itself, he must learn to become one of the very beings that toyed with both him and his friends. Will the games ever end, or is he fated to a life of pain and anguish until the bitter end? Note: this contains a lot of angst. There are also a few scenes with blood, but nothing too graphic. (I'm pretty squeamish when it comes to blood myself).
