In a world where soulmate bracelets appear on people's wrists at birth, society revolves around finding your destined partner. The bracelets glow when soulmates meet for the first time, making relationships seem perfect and effortless. However, for Smitty and Kryoz, things aren't as simple. Both boys grew up in Starlake, a small town obsessed with the soulmate system. Despite their bracelets indicating they are each other's soulmates, they've kept their connection a secret. The town expects soulmates to be publicly celebrated, but same-gender soulmate pairs are still taboo in their traditional community.

One night after John finished his shift, he came across an unconscious vigilante in an alley. Deciding to be nice, he took the vigilante home and bandaged his head- little did he know what he was going to get himself into. It swept them off their feet and into a new world they never thought it was possible. Day by day news of unfathomable creatures or happenings spread across the globe, the whole world has a new hate towards all those affected by the star. Well lucky for them they were just normal.
