After her parents are stuck in Maine from a plane accident, 16-year old Sophie Martin is all alone and stuck in the streets of New York City. Being a Canadian native (Quebec, to be precise), she has little to no knowledge about US/New York culture. During her first night of being in the city all alone, she stumbles upon Julian Casablancas of The Strokes. Being a huge fan of their music, a giant wave of excitement crashes over her. But as much as it excites her, it worries her. When Julian invites her over to his apartment, she knows right away that her life is going to take a whole different turn. This is set in the summer of 2003, (pre-"Room On Fire" era). Disclaimer: This story will contain topics such as: smoking, drinking, illegal relationships, sexual activities, mentions of rape and self-harm, and strong language. If you aren't comfortable with this, please don't read this story. All of the characters in the story are completely fictional and are not based on real-life people (except for The Strokes themselves, of course). This is an original storyline.

6 years after her rollercoaster of a summer trip, Sophie returns to New York, now a confident young woman. She believes that she has everything figured out in her life... until she runs into some unexpected events. This is the sequel to the first book entitled "Left and Right in the Dark." If you haven't read that one, I highly recommend it to understand the full story and context. 😄 The setting of this book will start in the summer of 2009, (pre-"Phrazes for the Young" era). Disclaimer: Considering that this story is set 6 years in the future, (so naturally all of the characters are older), this book will be more mature than the last one. This book will contain themes such as: drinking, sex, violence, and strong language. If you aren't comfortable with this, please don't read this story. All of the characters in the story are completely fictional and are not based on real-life people (except for The Strokes themselves, of course). This is an original storyline.

Their future as a band seems distant as they struggle to find their last member and repeatedly get rejected by the club. However, when they find out that the daughter of the Five-O's owner attends their school and her best friend, Albert Hammond Jr., can play guitar, the four come up with a plan to get the guy and the gig.

When 22 year-old music lover and daydreamer Ellie Clark is presented, by chance, the opportunity to work for one of her favorite bands, her stagnant life rapidly changes, and she finally gets to live out the adventure she has been longing for her whole life. Follow this young girl as she finds new passions, pursues her dreams, and falls in love with the singer of her favorite band. Background info: *This story begins in New York in 2002 in the middle of Fiona, a minor character, breaking up with Julian. The break-up is a catalyst for the writing of the song "Automatic Stop." Julian becomes depressed for a short amount of time, but he soon gets a "different view" when he meets Ellie... *The story is written in first person and alternates perspectives between Julian and Ellie, the two main characters, telling the story in present tense. ❣ Fun Fact: The Strokes' T in the Park 2004 "Automatic Stop" performance inspired me to write this story. ✏️Author's Note: This is my first fan fiction! tried my best to write this piece with accuracy by reading obscure Strokes articles, watching several interviews, listening to their music, and subsequently incorporating various aspects into the creation of this story. Of course, I left the rest to my imagination... Thanks to anyone who took the time to read what I have written so far! Comments are always appreciated! (:

Jade is the typical high school loner. That is, until she meets a special someone and his wild group of friends, and is thrown into a life she'd never expected to have; roadtrips? Parties? Romance, perhaps? (This was my first Strokes fic, so obviously it's pretty badly written and quite cringeworthy to read, but if you manage to read up to the halfway point, I promise you it gets more bearable to read from there!)
