She felt sad.
There wasn't any real, true reason behind why she felt sad, she just did.
There was nothing he could do.
Everyday he just watched as the love of his life slowly faded away in time.

"(Y/n), can you open up the door? Please?" Devin calls to his girlfriend through the closed, wooden bathroom door.
"I don't want you to see me like this, Devin. Why do you even stay? Just go find a girl who can love and treat you like the prince you deserve to be treated as," she croaked, sliding her back down the door. Falling to the ground, she sat there with her knees to her chest, thin arms hugging them limply.
"Baby? Why would you say that? You know I love you. I know you're struggling but I'm not going to leave you. I know you can be this. (Y/n), just let me in," Devin rested his forehead against the wood.
He hated when they had these conversations. He hated it because he knew that it meant that she was thinking about death. (Y/n) wanted him to move on. She didn't think she was worth staying behind for.
"But what if I let you in and you don't like what you see? Devin, I can't let you in when you're only going to leave. There's no reason for you to stay with me. You're going to be something some day. Maybe even get to join a band like you wanted to. You need someone who you won't constantly be worrying over. Like, that nice Kylie girl. I know she likes you. You two would fit so perfectly." She said, lying straight through her teeth.
She only want the best for Devin. She knew she wouldn't get over her depression. It was a silent killer, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. It killed her to say those words to him, to even think of her boyfriend wrapping someone else in his arms that wasn't her, but she knew it was the best for him.
She didn't want to hold him back any longer.
"Don't say that, (Y/n). I will never leave you," a tear fell down his pale face. "I love you and I will always love you. I don't want Kylie. I want you. Just let me in. Please. Let me show you that you're not alone. Don't fade out on me. Please, (Y/n). Please. Let me in." He gently hit a fist against the door.
Sniffling, (Y/n) stood up off the ground and turned around. Snaking her fingers around the knob, she slowly twisted it.
The door cracked open and Devin backed away. The door opened to reveal his drowning girlfriend with her tear-stained cheeks, makeup ran face, and chapped lips.
Devin instantly stepped up to (Y/n) and laced his arms around her shoulders, pulling her close.
"Don't ever leave me, Devin. Please." She cries into his shirt.
He held her tighter.
"Never."
