Amell rubs the ointment between his palms and gently holds my foot, pressing his thumb on my ankle

"Aah," I hiss when he squeezes slightly. Amell doesn't look at me and seems to concentrate so much on what he's doing as though he'd been doing it for years. I momentarily close my eyes and press my lips into a thin line. Amell makes small circles over my ankle. If this wasn't going to work then I was going to have to limp again for the third time in less than a month , because of Amell, someone I barely knew and more so someone I wasn't planning on knowing either. I feel the burning pain and I lean back on the bed desperately trying to pry my foot away from Amell's deathly grasp.

"Please stop ," I hiss and press my eyes shut , the pain was just too much. Finally Amell halts his unbearable first aid and I relax my muscles. I slowly open my eyes only to meet a pair of dark blue eyes staring at me. Amell is smirking and is still holding my foot more gently this time. I try to look anywhere but at his eyes. Finally I remember the reason as to why we were there

I clear my throat awkwardly and Amell's smirk immediately falls. His eyes that were once filled with excitement seem to fade and in its place comes the usual cold I was used to

"Now the wrist," he announces and picks up the ointment repeating the same procedure as prior. I place my hand on my lap and he lifts it up gently grasping my frail wrist using his index finger and thumb

"Where does it hurt?" He asks and looks at my wrist , "my entire wrist hurts Gabriels ," I say rather harshly. He squeezes gently and I hiss, he notices my reaction and squeezes once again much harder this time. I press my eyes shut and my other hand on its own accord quickly drapes over his. I feel him tense and he halts his painful torture, I slowly open my eyes and I find him glaring at me but this time I don't look away. We stay that way for a while , my hand on his and his on my wrist. Time seems frozen , the coldness in his eyes is gone and for a moment I see a hint or maybe a flash of concern in them.

"Maybe I should go," I finally say and break our little trance. "It's getting late ," I continue as he rises up returning the ointment back to the bathroom. By the time he's back I've already redressed myself up.

"So....mind showing me the way ?" I ask subtlety as we walk out the door. The pain in my ankle has eased a little and my wrist is all ticklish where Amell had placed his fingers despite still being painful. I follow him outside to his car and he unlocks it and we both get in. When the car roars to life I look at the time on the clock on the dashboard

Amell drives off swiftly and I try as hard as I possibly can not to steal glances at him. I pretend to be busy on my phone when actually there aren't even any interesting things I can do on it. The only contact in there is Cal's. There isn't any music on the radio so being the nosey bitch I usually am I decide to break the silence

"Where's the music?" I ask cheekily

"I'm sure you know how to operate the radio," he answers his eyes focused on the road. I sigh and push the button, I immediately flinch when I hear a sick metal song booming through the radio and all the way to my nerves.

"Christ - ," I say breathlessly ,"- why do you listen to such songs ?"I say more rhetorically than questioningly

"You are too nosey," he says as he swerves through a corner. I roll my eyes ,"I'm just curious ,"I reply

"About what exactly ?" He says and I look outside through my half open window. "Everything in general ," I say in a low tone.

"Okay I'll answer one question of yours  and you'll answer one of mine ," he declares and I look back at him. I feel a sense of déjà vu when I remember him asking me what made me smile when we were at the library. This isn't a chance worth wasting I can ask Amell anything ....but he just made you cry not less than an hour ago...take it slow Tracy.

"Okay," I say and turn my whole body on the seat to face him

"Because they make me relax ," he says and I look at him clearly confused . He briefly glances at me before returning his gaze on the road

"The punk songs ," he says and I stupidly realise that I'd already asked him a question but he wasn't supposed to answer it.

I fiddle with my fingers nervously and brace myself ,"Why do you always have the window open when we are in my car together - ?"he asks and my body freezes,"-even though it's only been twice,"he continues. I momentarily look at the half open window and remember the last time I rode with him I had it open too. But I can't tell him the truth but maybe he already knows considering the fact that not more than two weeks ago I literally ran away when he sat on my side blocking my personal space. Kait might've already told them the reason behind my uncivilised behaviour and he just wanted to get it from me

"It's hot in here ," I say

He smirks ,"the heater isn't on ,"

"I -,"I say frustratedly unable to think of any comeback. Amell sure knows how to manoeuvre his way into someone's head .

" You also did it last time ,"he says and I almost smile at the thought of how observant he actually is, almost.

"I love the cold, " I shrug

"Then why did you run away the other day at the froyo parlour," he questions and my heart stops. I feel the car slowing down and I say a silent prayer when I see the familiar houses usually located on our street.

Chewing on my lower lip,"I was only answering one question- ,"I reply and the car comes to a halt beside the sidewalk ,"-besides that was the deal wasn't it ?"I question as I push the button making the door budge.

"Thanks Amell," I say in my most sincere tone and give him a small smile. I push the door open and step out

"Tracy," I hear Amell say in a low husky voice.

"Aha," I reply turning my head around. He looks at me expectantly before muttering an official goodnight

"Goodnight Amell," I reply equally officially shutting the door behind me and trudge to my house (I'm actually doing something between walking and limping ).
