Being Spot Conlon was harder than everyone thought. Everyone thought he was cold and distant and very scary. Many people thought he didn’t possess a heart, which was not true. He did have a heart, he just hid it well. He needed to be aloof, that was the only way you could survive in Brooklyn. Being a street rat made you hard.

Winifred Brewster was the daughter of a famous doctor. She was Jack Kelly’s cousin and liked the life Jack lived. She believed her life was unexciting and wanted some adventure. She thought being rich made her boring.
