Mist is the twin sister of Elena Gilbert and the older sister Jeremy Gilbert. She's older then Elena by ten minutes so she feels it's her responsibility to take care of her siblings. Since their parents died Mist has been the one to comfort her sibling. She knows all about the supernateral so she's ok with Elena's relationship with Stefan but theres just one problem. She's there to love and care for her siblings, but who's there to love her?
