Maverick had just landed an opportunity of a lifetime to hook up with his favourite romance author, only to find out that he doesn't believe in happily ever afters.

'It's a simple ending,' Maverick shrugged. 'They get together and lived happily ever after.'

'Happiness is an illusion,' Caspian smiled wrily. 'Being happy ever after, an extended state of delusion.'

'You don't believe in happily ever afters?' Maverick raised an eyebrow at the most famous romance author in the world.

Caspian shrugged again. 'Nope. But maybe-' he smirked, '-delusionally ever after?'
