Prologue

"I don't love her in the way she does," said Vivaan, causing Vrinda's hopeful smile to fade into a heartbroken frown.

She stood amidst two warring families, hoping for support from childhood best friend who had won her heart, only to be spurned away in the most shattering way possible. His reluctance to reciprocate her amour had thrown away her self-respect to the wolves waiting to pounce upon her.

He had been the ray of hope in every tumultuous situation, but alas, destiny decided to throw her into the vortex of darkness; away from her beloved, torn by guilt for letting her family down, and withered by the anguish of betrayal.
